ClearComply Pro is our most popular plan at R249/month — and for good reason. It takes everything in the Basic plan and adds the tools that let you actually fix compliance issues yourself, without paying an accountant or company secretary thousands of rands per filing.
The centrepiece is the Fix It Co-Pilot: a Chrome extension that sits on top of the CIPC portal and walks you through every field, every form, and every upload step by step. Combined with the AI Compliance Assistant, 8 document templates, all 12+ obligation tracking, and advanced deadline reminders, Pro gives you everything you need to manage compliance for your company in one place.
This tutorial walks through every Pro feature, shows you how to use each one, and explains the practical workflow that saves most Pro subscribers hours every month.
Everything in Basic — plus more
Before diving into the Pro-exclusive features, a quick reminder of what carries over from the Basic plan:
- Compliance diagnostic — an instant health check that scans your company against CIPC records and flags what's out of order
- Compliance calendar — your annual return anniversary date, BO filing deadline, and other key dates in one view
- Compliance monitoring — ongoing checks that alert you when something changes or falls out of compliance
- Document vault — secure storage for your compliance documents (upgraded to unlimited on Pro)
Pro unlocks the features below — the ones that turn ClearComply from a monitoring tool into a complete compliance management platform.
Fix It Co-Pilot: guided filing on government portals
This is the feature that makes Pro worth every cent. The Fix It Co-Pilot is a Chrome browser extension that overlays step-by-step guidance directly on top of the CIPC BizPortal and eServices portals. Instead of guessing what each field means or which document to upload where, the Co-Pilot tells you exactly what to do at every step.
How the Co-Pilot works
Once you install the ClearComply Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store, it activates automatically whenever you visit a CIPC portal page. Here is what happens:
- Step-by-step overlay — the Co-Pilot displays a guidance panel on the right side of your screen. It detects which page you are on and shows the relevant instructions for that specific step in the filing process.
- Field-by-field highlighting — each form field on the CIPC page is highlighted in sequence. The Co-Pilot explains what information goes in each field, what format CIPC expects, and common mistakes to avoid. No more submitting a form only to get a cryptic error message.
- Auto-fill your company details — your company registration number, registered name, director details, and other information already stored in ClearComply are automatically populated into the relevant CIPC fields. You verify and confirm rather than typing everything from scratch.
- Screenshot any confusing form — stuck on a form that does not make sense? Take a screenshot directly from the Co-Pilot interface and the AI analyses the image instantly. It identifies each field in the screenshot and tells you exactly what to enter, in plain language. This is particularly useful for the more obscure CIPC forms that have no documentation.
- Filing-specific guidance — the Co-Pilot knows the difference between a Beneficial Ownership declaration, an annual return, a director change, and a company name change. Each filing type has its own tailored guidance flow with the correct sequence of steps.
What you can file with the Co-Pilot
The Co-Pilot currently supports guided filing for:
- Beneficial Ownership declarations (standard and optimised pathways)
- CIPC annual returns
- Director changes (appointments and resignations)
- Company name changes
- Address and contact detail updates
- Company reinstatement applications
A typical Co-Pilot session
Here is what a typical Beneficial Ownership filing looks like with the Co-Pilot:
- Open eservices.cipc.co.za in Chrome. The Co-Pilot icon lights up in your toolbar, confirming it is active.
- Log in with your CIPC customer code. The Co-Pilot detects the login page and reminds you to have your OTP device ready.
- Navigate to Transact → Beneficial Ownership. The Co-Pilot loads the BO filing guide and displays Step 1 in the side panel.
- Each field is highlighted as you move through the form. The Co-Pilot explains whether you are an affected or non-affected company, which pathway to select, and what documents to upload at each stage.
- Your company details are auto-filled from your ClearComply profile. You verify the pre-populated information and make corrections if needed.
- On submission, the Co-Pilot confirms the filing was successful and prompts you to download your confirmation certificate. It also updates your ClearComply dashboard automatically.
What used to take an hour of confusion and multiple attempts now takes 15–20 minutes on the first try. And you save the R2,500+ that an accountant would charge for the same filing.

The Fix It Co-Pilot overlays step-by-step guidance directly on the CIPC portal.
All 12+ obligations displayed
The Basic plan focuses on your core CIPC obligations: annual returns, Beneficial Ownership, and company status. Pro expands this to show every regulatory obligation your company faces across all government departments. Each obligation displays its current status, next deadline, and exactly what action is needed.
Here is what Pro tracks:
- CIPC annual return — due on your company anniversary date
- CIPC Beneficial Ownership declaration — must be filed before your annual return
- SARS income tax (ITR14) — annual company tax return, due within 12 months of your financial year end
- Provisional tax — two mandatory payments per year, with an optional third (see our provisional tax guide)
- VAT returns — if registered for VAT, bi-monthly or monthly submissions
- PAYE — monthly employer tax submissions and the annual EMP501 reconciliation
- UIF registration and returns — monthly contributions if you have employees (see our UIF employer guide)
- COIDA return of earnings — annual submission to the Compensation Fund (see our COIDA guide)
- Employment Equity reports — annual EEA2 and EEA4 submissions for designated employers (see our EE reporting guide)
- B-BBEE affidavit or certificate — annual verification or sworn affidavit depending on turnover (see our B-BBEE SME guide)
- POPIA compliance — ongoing obligations under the Protection of Personal Information Act (see our POPIA guide)
- PAIA manual — every company must have a PAIA manual and file an annual report with the Information Regulator (see our PAIA guide)
Each obligation is colour-coded: green for compliant, amber for upcoming deadline, red for overdue or non-compliant. You see your full compliance picture at a glance instead of checking multiple government portals.

All 12+ obligations in one view — Corporate Governance, Tax, Labour, and Data Protection categories.
AI Compliance Assistant
The AI Compliance Assistant is built into your Pro dashboard. Ask questions in plain language and get instant, context-aware answers based on your company's specific situation.
Examples of questions the assistant handles:
- “Do I need to register for COIDA?” — the assistant checks whether you have employees and advises accordingly
- “When is my next VAT return due?” — it pulls from your compliance calendar and tells you the exact date
- “What documents do I need for BO filing?” — it lists the specific documents based on whether you are an affected or non-affected company
- “Am I a designated employer for Employment Equity?” — it checks your company's turnover threshold and employee count
- “What is the penalty for late annual return filing?” — it explains the fee structure and the risk of deregistration
The assistant is trained on South African regulatory requirements across CIPC, SARS, the Department of Employment and Labour, the Compensation Fund, and the Information Regulator. It knows your company's registration details, financial year end, employee count, and turnover — so the answers are specific to you, not generic.
For complex legal matters that require professional judgement, the assistant will recommend consulting a qualified company secretary, tax practitioner, or attorney. It tells you what it can answer confidently and where professional advice is needed.
8 compliance document templates
Pro includes 8 professionally drafted compliance document templates, all pre-filled with your company's details. These are documents that every South African company needs but few have in place:
